“Hands That Welcome Life”

In our sweet home, India, where lives often struggle through,
Where technology is scarce, and roads run narrow,

Where hospitals feel like distant dreams,

And help may not come in time, it seems—

When a need arises, urgent and true,

Then fear takes hold, and hope grows few,

For hands that bring life, steady and wise—

Yes, we need more midwives.

Those who save lives, who answer the call,

In the darkest nights, they stand through it all,

At the sight of them, hope starts to rise—

A reason to live shines in weary eyes.

For every mother in silent pain,

For every newborn striving to gain,

A breath, a cry, a chance to stay—

Midwives help guide that hopeful way.

In emergency hours, when seconds count to decide,

They stand with courage, calm as a guide,

With knowledge, care, and gentle grace,

They hold both life and time in place.

A nation grows not just in might,

But in every child who sees the light,

So let us build, let us prepare,

A workforce skilled and equipped with care.

A midwife’s hand, a compassionate heart,

For every birth, for every start,

They need support, strength, and voice,

Training, skills, the power of choice.

To learn, to lead, to rise, to stand—

Independent minds, empowered hands.
